BLAST FROM THE PAST!

Vacation Bible School

I remember every summer looking forward to one week of Vacation Bible School.  We would learn about the Bible, make crafts and play with our friends.  And then at the end, we would all gather together on the front lawn of the church for a group photo.

Found these two at mom’s house a couple of weeks ago and was amazed at how many recognizable faces I found in these two photos!

From my cute little sister, Jeanie, in the front row, mom holding Jana near the church sign, to all the little patent leather shoes, white sox, sweet little dresses and clean cut little guys – it really takes you back to another day and time.

One of my fondest memories was a craft – carving a Bible out of a bar of Ivory soap.  My mom was the craft person that year and it was really fun.  Anyone else remember doing that?  What a mess that had to be with kids carving soap all over the place!

Patricia Nance from the class of 1965 also sent in a photo of Vacation Bible School at the First Presbyterian Church.  There are also recognizable faces in that photo.

See how many you can recognize.
